Update-Work postponed until Tuesday
Starting Saturday September 9, excavation will begin for the installation of new fiber optic line to the High School. This is a highly anticipated improvement for our school’s internet accessibility. While it is regrettable for Frontier to delay the project into the school year, this project should have minimal impact on our school and community.
Starting on Saturday, crews will begin working on the West side of the lower (gravel) parking lot. During the Summit Volleyball match, all students and boosters will need to park along the east chain-link fence in the lower (gravel) lot.
After the Volleyball match on Saturday, further excavation will begin along the hill-side of the lower, paved drive-way of the High School and then on Ace’s place to the highway. This will not close either road… but it will make Ace’s Place one way for student, parent, and staff vehicles.
On Monday…. All traffic from Main Street, will proceed West (up) Ace’s Place… Exiting the Secondary school grounds will be on the gravel service road to the Elementary school and to Main Street. No traffic will be allowed to proceed East (downhill) on Ace’s Place.
To avoid congestion, staff parking will be on the east side of the pave parking lot only.
On Monday the 11th – please drive cautiously to avoid vehicles that may be driving the wrong way and for students on foot that could be in the traffic pattern. Also… please be aware of possible blockages, congestion or delays.
All intersections will be open, as the contractor will be “tunneling” under the asphalt to avoid unnecessarily closing access to our facilities.
Bus traffic will follow the same traffic pattern on Monday.
The expectations are that this work will be complete by the end of Monday the 11th.
