Dear Parents,
Our district provides to our junior/senior high school students a Provision 2 Nutrition Break every morning free of charge. Every day, students are offered a meal that include servings of fruit, whole grain-rich items, and low fat or fat free milk.
To offer this free nutritional snack, one of our required procedures is to count the meals served at the point of service. In order to accomplish this count, we issued the students a card at the beginning of the year with their name and a barcode. As the student goes through the line, they scan the card and a count is tallied in PowerSchool.
We encourage students to keep track of their cards. If a card is lost, the student will incur a $1.00 replacement fee. If a card is lost for a second time, the fee will be $2.00. The third time a card is lost the fee will be $5.00. The charges are to offset the supplies needed to print the cards.
This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
