New Starting Times
Just a quick reminder that our schools will be starting 7 minutes earlier than last year. Riggins Elementary will start at 8:08 and Salmon River Jr/Sr High will start at 7:56. There are no changes to the bus schedules or release times. Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 30.

Idaho’s Top-Performing District
Congratulations to students and staff of Salmon River JSD 243. According to Idaho Ed News, Idaho’s top-performing district on the SAT is Salmon River. “It was one of the state’s smallest districts: Salmon River, a four-day district based in Riggins, with an enrollment of barely 100 students. The school’s average SAT score was 1,123.”

Special Board Meeting
The Salmon River School District Board of Trustees would like to invite friends and patrons of the school district to a “Special Board Meeting” to discuss the topic of school district staff members carrying canceled weapons on school grounds during school hours and functions. Jim Georges the Undersheriff from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office will be at the meeting as well. The meeting will be Monday June 6th in the secondary school’s multipurpose room at 6 P.M. Please help us spread the word by letting your friends and acquaintances know about the meeting.

Track Team to State
Salmon River track athletes represented well at the 1A District Championships in New Plymouth. Congrats to all competitors, especially our numerous state qualifiers. Nine Savage athletes will compete in Middleton on Friday and Saturday for State Championships. Go Savages!
